Another Friday of new releases and this one is jammed pack full of over 20 new albums. And these are the only the ones I chose to list. I would venture to say there should be at least one thing of interest to you in this list, if not, well…sorry. I have only 2 albums I want and one I actually already have. My choices are in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and let me know what I might have missed as there usually is. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Weekend!!
- Beastie Boys – Beastie Boys Music – (Capitol Records): I am a casual Beastie Boys fan so a greatest hits album is really perfect for me. I do have License to Ill because everyone should have that one. I don’t have this on order but maybe I will put in on my Christmas List!!
- Smith & Myers – Volume 2 – (Atlantic Recording): The Shinedown boys of Brent Smith and Zach Myers are back with Volume 2 after only 2 weeks since Volume 1. And let me tell you, Volume 1 was great so this should be more of the same. It is usually all acoustic (with an electric thrown in every now and then) and some great covers. I think they are going to put this on vinyl so yes, another Christmas List item!!!
- Pearl Jam – MTV Unplugged – (MTV/Epic/Sony): Now, I actually have this already because it was a Record Store Day First release about a year ago and I’ve reviewed it already so click on the link to see what I have to say about it. Oh yeah, give this a listen while you are at it.
And all the rest…
- Sevendust – Blood & Stone – (Rise Records)
- Nothing But Thieves – Moral Panic – (Sony Music)
- Bruce Springsteen – Letter To You – (Bruce Springsteen)
- Joe Bonamassa – Royal Tea – (J&R Adventures)
- Ben Harper – Winter is for Lovers – (Ben Harper / ANTI) – Digital Only, CD next week.
- Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors – Live at the Tennessee Theatre – (Magnolia Music / Thirty Tigers)
- Blue October – This is What I Live For – (Up/Down Brando Records)
- Gorillaz – Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez – (Parlophone Records)
- Fuzz – III – (In The Red)
- Fireflight – Who We Are: The Head and The Heart – (Rockfest Records)
- Leaves’ Eyes – The Last Viking – (AFM Records / SoulFood Distribution)
- Saul – Rise as Equals – (Spinefarm Records)
- The Mountain Goats – Getting Into Knives – (Merge Records)
- Armored Saint – Punching the Sky – (Metal Blade Records)
- Pallbearer – Forgotten Days – (Nuclear Blast)
- Bootsy Collins – The Power of the One – (Mashamug Music)
- Kari Jobe – The Blessing (Live) – (Sparrow Records / Capitol)
- Ashton Irwin – Superbloom – (Ashton Irwin Music Group)
- Jeff Tweedy – Love is the King – (DPBM Records) – Digital Only; CD/Vinyl Jan. 15th
- Devin Townsend – Order of Magnitude: Empath Live, Vol. 1 – (HevyDevy Records / InsideOut)
- Hammerfall – Live! Against the World – (Napalm Records)
I like what I’ve heard from Bruce, Bootsy Collins, and Ben Harper…pretty big list on new releases.

Big week – and the things I’m most interested like Tricot and Adrianne Lenker.

Finally some Friday action. UFO has released that massive Strangers In The Night box set today as well. That one I’m interested in hearing.

I’m interested in the UFO one as well, but didn’t buy it yet. Too many others have already been ordered.

and Thin Lizzy box man oh man what a Friday!

Both the Lizzy and UFO are only digital releases at this point. I actually have them on different weeks for when the CD sets actually come out. I wasn’t even thinking digital for those sets.

Oh I didn’t know that. I have UFO SITN on vinyl preordered and they pushed it back to Nov 20th.. Maiden and UFO both live on the that day

The Hammerfall is good and is Armoured Saint although they don’t sound as fierce as they usually do. The big question for me which got answered was: Would Leaves Eyes be as good without Liv Christine as singer. While I still think Liv is the better singer, this sounds okay.

Didn’t know the Leaves Eyes changed singers, but I didn’t really follow them that closely. Glad it worked out.

Saw them at Bloodstock 2010 and I was totally blown away by Liv’s vocals.

Yep a lot of releases this week. Quite a few here are on my playlist for the month. Saul is the only unknown so I checked em out on Spotify and I like, so I added them to the playlist.

Definitely happy about this Pearl Jam reissue. I didn’t want to pay the late tax. Of course for guys like you, this means a reissue of something that used to be exclusive.

Well, I don’t think it was actually exclusive. I think it was a RSD First which there is a difference. I’m okay with it as mine will be worth more!!
I didn’t get the Skid Row album yesterday…sold out. I did get Cinderella’s Heartbreak Station which I didn’t even know was going to be available.

me either, not a sign of Slave. Got the Warren Zevon and the late Leppard one. Dunno, why it was on sale now and not before like it was elsewhere. I’m interested in Armored Saint album.

Still ever got Slave and I tried a couple places. Oh well. I’ll find it eventually.

You are the second or third to mention Bootsy. Makes me a little interested in that one now.
