This been a great month of releases and two of which might end up on My Top 10 list at the end of the year. One that has been bought and will be here today and the other is one I want to try out as I liked the song I heard and my Canadian followers will be happy. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Stone Temple Pilots – Tiny Music…Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop (25th Anniversary) – (Atlantics): This is a MUST HAVE!! I have ordered and it is on the way. The first two box sets in the Anniversary Series they are doing were top notch and this one looks great as well. You get a remastered album, a bonus disc of demos and such and then a live show from the era and that is all you want in a good box set. My Brother-In-Law worked on this one as well and he mixed a bunch of he unreleased stuff (or was it the live show, I can’t remember). Anyway, I am excited and I will be really excited if he remembers to get a me a copy of the 7″ Single that is only available on the STP Site.
Lee Aaron – Radio On – (Metalville): And here is a long standing Canadian artist that has been around for a long time and she still sounds fantastic. I heard the track I posted below and it has intrigued me to want to give the rest of the album a listen. Who doesn’t a love a woman who can rock out with the best of them!!
Another Friday of new releases and this one is jammed pack full of over 20 new albums. And these are the only the ones I chose to list. I would venture to say there should be at least one thing of interest to you in this list, if not, well…sorry. I have only 2 albums I want and one I actually already have. My choices are in Blue. Beastie Boys – Beastie Boys Music – (Capitol Records): I am a casual Beastie Boys fan so a greatest hits album is really perfect for me. I do have License to Ill because everyone should have that one. I don’t have this on order but maybe I will put in on my Christmas List!!
Smith & Myers – Volume 2 – (Atlantic Recording): The Shinedown boys of Brent Smith and Zach Myers are back with Volume 2 after only 2 weeks since Volume 1. And let me tell you, Volume 1 was great so this should be more of the same. It is usually all acoustic (with an electric thrown in every now and then) and some great covers. I think they are going to put this on vinyl so yes, another Christmas List item!!!
Welcome to a HUGE Friday!!! There releases are massive and numerous. What more could you ask for. This is the first time in a very long time where I have 3 releases that are on order for the same day. I am going to love the mail man this week. The albums I am interested in are highlighted in Blue and the first 3 are the ones on order. Let me know what you looking forward to hearing and which ones I might have missed. Enjoy and have a great musical weekend! I know I will!!!
 Greta Van Fleet – Anthem of the Peaceful Man – (Republic Records): These young lads are constantly getting compared to Led Zeppelin and you know what? Who cares. Zeppelin isn’t putting out any new music so I am going to enjoy this. At least the young generation is still making Rock & Roll. This is their first Full Length studio album and I get wait to unwrap the vinyl.
 Whitesnake – Unzipped – (Rhino Records): 5 CDs and 1 DVD of Whitesnake Unplugged. 20 years worth of music including Starkers in Tokyo and Starkers in Warsaw, Paris, Germany and so much music. I can’t wait for this one either. It is going to be non-stop music.
Finally!!! The new releases start picking up. Â August was such a slow month, but it is about to get busy. Â The floodgates are opening and the new releases are coming in full force. Â So hold on and open your wallets, it is going to get expensive. Â This week gets off nicely and the ones I am interested in are highlighted in Blue. Â There should be something in here for everyone especially some great rock and a ton of country. Â Let me know what you like.
 Alter Bridge – Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities – (Napalm Records):  Alter Bridge live is going to be good.  You have the boys from Creed and Myles Kennedy who is one of the hardest working singers in the business between Alter Bridge, Slash and so many other projects, he is always working.  There have been a lot of good live albums lately and this should be no exception.  The plus side is there are a bunch of rare tracks on here as well that really has my interest.
 Jonny Lang – Signs – (Concord Records):  Blues rocker Jonny Lang is back with his first album in 4 years and it has been way too long.  I am looking forward to hearing some more of his guitar magic.  With a new album from Kenny Wayne Shepherd and now Jonny, blues rock is alive and kicking.
