On my Summer vacation back in June, I found over 20 singles with the picture sleeve. I’ve been through a bunch of them so far and now we are tackling the Bon Jovi singles that I found. There were 5 Singles found and we are going to kick it off with one of Bon Jovi’s most popular and famous songs, “Wanted Dead or Alive” off the band’s 1986 album ‘Slippery When Wet’. The song was the third single from this album and the third to crack the Billboard Hot 100 reaching #7. The band was on a roll and growing to become one of the world’s biggest rock bands thanks in large part to this song.
My copy is the basic U.S. Version and is an Indianapolis Pressing. Nothing fancy about it. The B-Side is the album version of “I’d Die For You”. The A-Side is also the basic version of “Wanted Dead or Alive”, no single edit or anything like that just the same long version as the album. The short version cuts off about a minute of the song.
I decided no band this week. Just the celebration of Rock Music. There is nothing better and never will be. You can have your pop, your country, your rap and whatever else there is, but for me…Rock is King and will never die. Rock has a way of making all the bad in the world go away. It calms me, It excites me, It is there when I am down to lift me up and there is nothing like it.
Happy Friday! Next week is Thanksgiving here in the States and sadly, there isn’t a ton to be thankful for on this week’s releases except for the few new live releases from Iron Maiden, Jeff Lyne’s ELO and Black Sabbath. Outside of that, I don’t really care too much. I might give some a listen, but got get through these live albums first. My choices are highlighted in Blue! Let me know if anything tickles your fancy.
Iron Maiden – The Book of Souls: The Live Chapter – (Iron Maiden LLP): Of course any Iron Maiden live album is a welcome sight and this one is no different. This will probably be first up on the drive in to work. I know several of my loyal followers will be devouring this one as well. You know who you are!!
Black Sabbath – The End – (Eagle Rock Entertainment):The Final Black Sabbath show was captured and now being released. Not surprising that they are coming to an end, amazingly they lasted as long as they did. I am interested to see how this show turned out and bid a final farewell to this icon of metal music. For that alone, it is worth a spin!
