Happy Friday!! And why is it happy? Well, it is New Release Friday that is why. We have a bunch of new albums for you this week. I am interested in the Van Halen and the Mr. Big release. My kids are excited about the Megan Moroney and Cigarettes After Sex new albums. Hopefully there is something in here for you. Let me know what you want to hear or what we may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Mr. Big – Ten – (Frontiers Records)
Megan Moroney – Am I Okay? – (Sony Music)
Hardy – Quit!! – (Big Loud Rock / Mercury Records / Republic Records / UMG)
Cigarettes After Sex – X’s – (Spanish Prayers / Partisan Records)
Another week of over 40 albums being released which means there is something for everyone. Heck, if you make it down to the end there is even a Christmas album by Kelly Clarkson. Yes, it is time for Christmas albums to start coming out. I know, too soon!! I have a handful I would really like to hear and one I’d really like to buy, but KACHING!!! My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and let us know what I may have missed so everyone can see what they might be missing. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
The Alarm – History Repeating: 1981-2021 – (Twenty First Century Recording Co): A Double CD of the band’s 40 year career!! Man, I am feeling old as I have been listening since the beginning. There are are a several unreleased songs as well as all their hits. I believe there are 44 tracks and definitely worth grabbing!!
Judas Priest – Reflections: 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music Box Set: I would love to get the big deluxe box set but it is well over $400 and I am sure worth every penny. I might need to sell some things or take out a second mortgage for this one. After just finishing the Judas Priest Review Series on the site, this would be a great way to top it off!! With a giant cherry on top!! Or you can get the one disc greatest hits album if that floats your boat. Either works.
Welcome to the first Friday of August and there a bunch of new releases this week. Not many I’m interested in, but hopefully enough for you to find something. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know which ones you are interested and what I might’ve missed so all our readers can see what is there for their choosing. Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Deep Purple – Whoosh! – (earMusic): I will admit, I haven’t listened to Deep Purple in years until their last release ‘Infinity’ which was pretty good. I’m hoping they have still upped their game here for another solid release. The old guys still have a little left in the tank…thankfully!!
Seventh Day Slumber – Unseen: The Lion E.P. – (Rockfest Records): A hard rock Christian band. That is good enough for me. Not all of their releases have stuck a chord with me, but there has been enough meat on the bone to keep me coming back. Sadly this is only an E.P., but I will take what I can get. This time around it is some worship music which is fine by me.
Wow, how are we already in to February. Time flies when you’re having fun. We are having fun…right??? Anyway, we don’t have a ton of releases…only 6 on my list this week. And maybe I will give them all a listen, I haven’t decided. There are two on my list this week for sure, the rest will make some time, if at all. Let me know if there is anything you are interested in or if I missed anything. Thanks and have a great music weekend.
Tom Petty – The Best of Everything: The Definitive Career Spanning Hits Collection 1976-2016 – (Geffen Records): An extensive greatest hits collection for the Tom Petty fan consisting of 38 tracks from his Heartbreaker work, his solo work and even his Mudcrutch work. It is a pretty great track list with 2 unreleased tracks and an essay by Cameron Crowe. All just spectacular and must have for every Petty fan. (UPDATE: Apparently this got moved at the last minute to March 1st because when I wrote this up it was due to drop on Feb. 1st…sorry about that)
American Authors – Seasons – (Island Records): This pop rock, alt rock band is back with their 3rd album. They have pretty great songs, but this one is attracting me more because of the two songs I have heard are exceptional. One with Billy Raffoul on it called “Say Amen” and the other is “Neighborhood” with Bear Rinehart from Needtobreathe. These are two people I really, really like and want everything they do so this is on my list for sure.
