Happy Friday. Here we are with another Friday New Release post. I feel like we just had one of these last week…oh wait…we did and do every week. We have over 40 this week and sadly, nothing for me this time around which is good as I need a break every now and again plus there is a big one next week I am waiting to hear. Let me know what interests you and what I may have missed as I am sure there will be some. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Shovels & Rope – Manticore – (Dualtone Music Group)
Beach House – Once Twice Melody – (Sub Pop Records)
Ace is back!!! Welcome to Friday’s new releases and there are a handful of releases worth noting and of course, the true Spaceman himself has a new album out. Even if it is a covers album, I have already bought it is on its way! All my choices are highlighted in Blue which is only 2 for sure and maybe I will check out the Derek Sherinian and Flying Colors albums, but it will all depend on time. What is out this week that you want to hear or what did I miss from the list? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
Ace Frehley – Origins, Vol 2 – (Entertainment One): Yes!!! Ace is finally releasing his 2nd covers album which has been talked about since the release of Vol 1 a few years ago. It has some John 5, Robin Zander of Cheap Trick and the one and only, Bruce Kulick!! Yes Kiss Fans…Bruce!!! The two best Kiss guitarist are on a song together. Doesn’t get much better than that!!
White Lion – All You Need is Rock & Roll: Complete Albums 1985-1991 – (Cherry Red): This album has been bumped time and time again and is finally coming out. It is a box set with the first four studio album plus a live disc which is the one I am wanting. I can’t “WAIT”!!!!
August was not a great month for new releases, so September has to be better…right?? Yes and No. Yes, September is loaded with some great possible new releases. But No, it isn’t this week. Next week starts the onslaught of new releases and you won’t be disappointed. There a couple I will listen to this week, but not overly excited about any of them. My choices are highlighted in Blue (and sadly no good rock albums this week…for me at least).
The Script – Freedom Child – (Sony Music): The Irish band is back with their 5th studio album. The are decent enough pop band. My daughter and I saw them several years ago for some radio station Christmas show and I have to say that they weren’t very good live. Or at least at this event. I could not understand what the singer was saying or even singing. We were disappointed. Their studio stuff is way better. Let’s hope we get some decent pop songs. My expectations aren’t real high so shouldn’t be disappointed (better not be).
Dixie Chicks – DCX MMXVI Live – (Columbia): The Dixie Chicks are always entertaining. I am glad to see them still putting out music. This one seems like an interesting collection of the latest tour. It includes 2CDs and I believe a DVD of the show. Should be a nice set.
