Welcome to another week of new release and do we have a bunch to choose from. We have an astounding 56 releases today!! That is INSANE!!! With that many albums, there has to be a little in here for everyone. I have a handful that I want to hear today and you will as well I am sure. My choices are in Blue. Let me know which ones you want to hear this week and also tell me if I missed any which I am sure will happen. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Metallica – Metallica (Deluxe Editions/Box Set) – (Blackened Recordings): The biggest selling Metallica gets the Deluxe treatment with a newly remastered album and previously unreleased, demos, rough mixes, & live tracks. Includes a 28-page booklet. This will be fun going through and will keep you busy for quite some time.
Metallica – The Metallica Blacklist – (Blackened Recordings): This Metallica set if 4 CDs of artists of all sorts of genres playing songs of the album. You get 50+ artists and a pretty cool tribute album basically.
Trip the Witch – Trip the Witch – (Trip the Witch): The debut album of a project with STP’s Dean DeLeo and Tom Bukovac. The two were brought together by my brother-in-law, Ryan Williams, who also mixed the album. If you like the album then it is all Ryan’s fault. If you don’t, it is still Ryan’s fault. The first singer had Yes’ Jon Anderson on vocals so if that is the caliber of people on this album we are in for a treat.
Kacey Musgraves – Star-Crossed – (Insterscope Records / MCA Nashville / UMG): She’s a little but country, a little bit poppy but very unique. Not your ordinary country lady, she is bold and empowered and 100% incredible. She is worth a listen always.
Andrew W.K. – God is Partying – (Napalm Records): Andrew W.K. is also very unique. His brand of metal, rock or whatever you want to call it is heavy, hard hitting and sometimes party rock. Can’t wait to see what he has in store this time around.
And then we have all the rest…

Cool. Glad you found some stuff. I am hoping the Kacey one is good as I’m about to throw that one on.

I don’t think it’s as good as the last one, but that one was amazing IMO.

Heck yeah, that last was awesome. My daughter even got in to her with that one.

On the Metallica tribute, does anyone cover “Battery?”
LikeLiked by 1 person
Nope, doesn’t look like it. About 100 bands cover Nothing Else Matters and Enter Sandman. That is a lot of times with the same song. Might be a tough listen.

Yeah, hearing the same songs over and over, no matter who covers them would be very boring.

I will listen to whatever version of the Black album release is up on Spotify.

The Black album 2 vinyl set should be at my door today
I downloaded the super deluxe on Apple and man there is a ton of rock lol

Yeah, there is a crapload of stuff. The tribute album is not what I was expecting as there are so many artists, but only a handful of songs. You would get so tired of these songs after so any versions.

I’m skipping that tribute for now
Wanna hear the demos and live stuff

That is probably the better one to go with. The tribute may be fun one day if I feel up to it.

I’ll be buying all that Metallica. Just not today. I already have the singles, so may as go for the whole enchilada.

Like Inglorious, weren’t they releasing a covers album?
Costello freak, not sure spanish version is needed…
Been reading a lot about Amyl and the Sniffers, sounds interesting.
Like Kasey too, have the last album.
Hawthorne Heights could be fun. Haven’t listened to them in ages…

For Inglorius, I think this one is a covers album right?

I think you accidentally forgot to put the new Donnie Osmond in blue. And don’t try and tell me you’re not working on collecting his entire catalog for your upcoming review series “An Osmond October” here on 2loud2old.

It’s practically the 2021 version of MJ’s “Bad.” I was waiting for Wesley Snipes to make an appearance and ask Donny “are you bad or what!?”

LOL! I can’t believe you listened. I haven’t listened and not sure I will.

Due to my budget, I can’t afford to buy new stuff all the time. But thanks for doing these posts every week John!

I don’t buy new stuff every weekend either. Maybe older stuff but not running out and buying new as often. Plus I’ve been working for years and have a different Budget then you but when I was younger I was in your boat.

I mean I don’t think it’s necessary to buy new stuff that often anyways. But yeah, it helps that you have a job currently. What’s your job by the way?

I’ve got my pre-order in for the Blacklist. I’ve loved Kacey Musgraves since Same Trailer, Different Park. New stuff is cool. And I have a buddy who has been waiting very, very impatiently for the new Face To Face album.

Glad you got it on order. Hopefully it lives up to expectations. I’m holding out for a while as too many other things I want. And the Kacey new one is great!!

Brother Craig says the Blacklist thing is awesome, I dunno how he’s heard it but I believe him when he says it rocks.

Yeah, he’s got money, and fine tastes. It’s always been fun to me just to be along for the ride. I don’t see him often, these days (naturally, we don’t see many people at all) but yeah. When he turned his mind to LPs I knew how that was going to go lol.

I bought the three disc Metallica set. I wanted the remaster and the live stuff. Hearing them at the height of their live powers was a treat.
I heard that Ghost did a cover of Enter Sandman. I’ll need to check that one out.

I haven’t bought any of the sets yet. don’t know which one I want. And I haven’t heard Blacklist yet, but I do believe Ghost is on it.
