The Collection: Ep. 91 – February 2026 Wrap-Up

We are now 2 months into 2026 and already, I’ve had some great finds. It is time for our February 2026 Wrap Up so lets see what 2 Loud 2 Old Music added to the collection this month. Despite the cold weather, we also picked up a bunch of a heat in CDs and even a few vinyl. Plus, one HOLY GRAIL item! This month I hit up Noble Records and 2nd & Charles, as well as ordered a couple things from Discogs, Facebook and Amazon. So much to go through including a handful of new Rock Candy CDs in the collection, a Box Sets plus a selection of items from the Needtobreathe Insiders Fan Club. Lots of great new and old stuff to go through and show for this month so I hope you enjoy the show!!

So go check it out as it is live right now on YouTube. Thanks for stopping by and please click “Like” and hit “Subscribe” as it helps out the site when you do.

And here is everything for those that don’t want to watch the video…

Kiss – Kiss My Ass: Classic Kiss Regrooved (1994) – Album Review (The Kiss Review Series)

We are now in 1994 and it has been almost 2 years since the band’s last studio album. At this point in the timeline, there is no work being done on a new album either. Kiss was in limbo to some degree. But the motors were turning and the band thought to celebrate their 20 years in music, they would do a Tribute album which would be performed by artist that were big at the time of 1994. Tribute albums were big in the early 90’s as there a ton, so this was not an original idea by the band. I believe they had run out of original ideas years earlier.

The band had over 100 bands that wanted to do songs including such acts as Sir Mix A Lot and Smashing Pumpkins. Hell, even Kurt Cobain and The Melvins did a song together, but sadly it came in too late to be included on the album. They had settled on 12 acts to perform 12 Kiss Klassics…sorry Classics. These song wouldn’t be straight up renditions as each band was allowed to do something different to the songs and make it special in their own way.

Before we get to the music, let us talk about the packaging a little. Now, if you notice the cover art, the make-up for Ace isn’t shown and that is because Kiss didn’t own Ace’s make-up design. At this time, Ace still owned it. The band didn’t get permission from the right people in time for the album’s release so that is why it is absent. Instead, you get Paul’s original design with the bandit style make-up on the little boy.

Friday New Releases – June 15th

Are things heating up for you?  Well, the new releases are heating up!  Okay, maybe they are lukewarm; however, there are a few worth checking out and mine will be in Blue.  Let me what you are looking forward to hearing.  There are live albums, Blues, Pop, Rock and electronica…something for everyone. If you like 90’s artists, there a several back this week that might be worth at least a stream or two.  Have a great weekend!!

  • 61PHqjoSN2L._AC_US436_QL65_  The Darkness – Live at Hammersmith – (Canary Dwarf Ltd):  The 80’s Hair Metal throwback band are back with a live album and wasn’t that what we were waiting to hear! This might be first up on the stereo today for me.  These guys would have been huge in the 80’s!!  Turn it up because I Believe In a Thing Called “Live”…see what I did there!!  Here is the original video as I didn’t see a live one for this release.

  • 51jjidBu5YL._SS500  Mike Shinoda – Post Traumatic – (Warner Bros):  The co-lead singer of Linkin Park is set for his first solo release and his first music since Chester Bennington’s passing.  As a fan of Linkin Park this is a no-brainer.  I am really interested to see where he takes it and how he responds to Chester’s death.  It should be a great release.
