We are at the end of another month and what a way to end it. There are so many releases this week I hope there is something you can find and enjoy. My vacation will be ending this week and then back to work next, so I am going to try and do nothing for a couple days except listen to music. My choices are in Blue. Let me know what you are feeling and if I missed anything. Have a great weekend!!
The Wild Feathers – Greetings from the Neon Frontier – (Reprise Records): This is where I will spend most of my time. I really think these guys are great. They are a mixture of Rock, Folk, Country and blend it all together so nicely. It is always a listening pleasure and so much to take in. Give them a try and as this is their third studio release, go back and get the other two.
Guns N Roses – Appetite for Destruction Super Deluxe Edition – (Geffen Records): What can I say about this one. One of the greatest debut albums by any band and now we get the ultimate deluxe edition. I can’t afford the big daddy release as I just bought the Def Leppard Vinyl collection (Volume One) so I will end up settling for one of the lesser expensive releases. Either way, it is nice to have for the collection.
Tommy Shaw – Sing for the Day! (Live) – (TMB Productions): The lead singer of Styx is releasing his performance with the Contemporary Youth Orchestra and it looks like it will be nice little show with some classic Styx and Tommy songs so sit back, turn it on and enjoy.
The Alarm – Equals – (Twenty First Century Recording): Their first album in 10 years and since I am a huge fan of their 80’s releases, I always give them a try and I am hoping for a little of that amazing songwriting. I will definitely give this one a spin.
Gorillaz – The Now Now – (Parlophone Records)
Bruce Dickinson – Scream for Me Sarajevo (Soundtrack) – (Duellist Holdings)
Bullet for My Valentine – Gravity – (Spinefarm Records)
Paul Rodgers – Free Spirit – (Quarto Valley Recs)
Stanley Clarke Band – The Message – (Mack Avenue)
Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy – Live – (BMG Music)
John Coltrane – Both Directions at Once: The Lost Album – (Verve Label Group)
Fates Warning – Live Over Europe – (InsideOut Music)
Indigo Girls – Live with the University of Colorado Symphony Orchestra – (Rounder Records)
Graham Nash – Over the Years – (Atlantic Catalog Group)
Ray Davies – Our Country: Americana Part 2 – (Sony Legacy)
Florence + the Machine – High as Hope – (Virgin EMI)
I just downloaded all the tracks to the Gunner’s album onto my iPod! Lot’s of tracks…

I’ll be going for the smaller Gunners edition too. Sad face.

Part of me wants the bigger one, but not the $1000 one.

I could maybe have stretched to the £140 one if it had more discs. But that’s too steep for five discs. The Whitesnake/DL one had the same or more for a fraction of that price.

Yeah, it is a little overpriced. I had no hesitation on the DL or the Whitesnake.

Yeah, me neither… with the GnR I just keep thinking what else I could do with that money.

I’d forgotten all about the Gorillaz album. They’re making up for lost time, eh?
Coltrane’s Lost Album is the one I’m most interested in, though. That’s gonna be quite something.

They are putting out a lot lately. Good for them. That Coltrane one has been getting some good press. I hope it is great.

I think I’ll have to pass on the $1000 GNR one too!

Now, if someone wants to buy it for me I wouldn’t pass on that.

Thanks. I have seen a few things on that one but haven’t heard it yet. Good add.

Stay tuned tomorrow for my Coltrane post. Heads up – there’s a 2CD edition for a few bucks more, I recommend that. The one pictured (above) is the 1CD!
