Last year, there were a few artist I was hoping would release an album that might have or might not have released one. It is always fun to hope for new music from these bands, but were disappointments. Here is who I was hoping for new albums from last year…
- Def Leppard – NOPE!! We got a cool Vinyl Collection, Volume One of a four set series…that was pretty cool. We also got another greatest hits collection which had a new song, but NO NEW ALBUM!!!
- Kiss – NOPE!! We did get the announcement of the band’s Farewell Tour called End of the Road Tour…sad, but exciting too! But NO NEW ALBUM. Ace gave us a new album!!!
- Van Halen – NOPE!!! Nothing!!!
- Ratt – NOPTE!!! We got a Stephen Pearcy solo album that kinda was lame and Warren left the band, but some lawsuits with other members were settled. What a cluster!!
- Needtobreathe – YES!!!! We got a four song E.P. called Forever On Your Side (Niles City Sound Sessions) and we got an Acoustic Live Album!! Good Year!!
- Monster Truck – YES!!! Another great release from the band!!
Okay, are there albums I want to see this year from some of my favorite bands that haven’t been announced or even rumored? Of course there are. These are the bands I want new albums from this year…but might not happen.
- Def Leppard – (of course)
- Kiss – (of course…but ain’t gonna happen)
- Van Halen – somethings happening, but probably not a Van Halen release
- Ratt – there are rumors for this one
- Guns N Roses – there are always rumblings since the Reunion tour started
- The Winery Dogs – they have announced a tour…I want an album as well
- Queen + Adam Lambert – That might be interesting. Seeing them in Concert in August
- Scott Stapp – people hate him, I don’t. I loved his last solo album and new one would be great
- Billy Idol – his last one was awesome. Give me more
- Royal Blood – yes please!!
And 2019 is shaping up for concerts already and the year hasn’t started. There are three concerts I already have tickets…
- Greta Van Fleet in May
- Kiss in August
- Queen + Adam Lambert in August
I have my name in the hat for the company box for Panic at the Disco in January and we might end up there. Outside of that, there are other shows coming I want to see, but after forking out for the whole family on Greta and Kiss, my funds are dwindling fast.
Now if you didn’t see a band mentioned above it might be because the release date has already been set. Here are the albums we already know about. I will highlight my most anticipated in Blue as well. I will be honest, the year isn’t shaping up to be stellar for me, so I hope there are more to come that I can get excited about. Happy New Year!!!

Lots to be excited about there. I’m keen on hearing the Tesla and can confirm the Thunder is terrific. I misread the Lana Dey Rey as having an album title called Normal Fucking… and I was intrigued

That would be an interesting title for Lana…well for anyone. The Norman Fucking Rockwell has me intrigued a little.

I hope for a good music year. Kiss really should have been able to come up with a new song or two. Motley Crue did when they toured! (The Sex, All Bad Things) So now Kiss are even lazier than Motley Crue?
I think we will get new Van Halen this year, in the form of Wolfie’s solo album. Who knows who will be singing but you know Eddie and Alex are going to be on it, and that’s enough for me…since Van Halen are even lazier than Kiss!

Kiss is being pretty lazy when it comes to new music. There is a demand for it just not Gold Status I am sure and they won’t do it for less than a Gold album.
I see Gene is doing more Vaults in 2019. Still $2000 but no performances at the meet & greet, no signing the top of the vault and no special unique item in each vault. He will sign the book and 2 personal items plus a picture. Now you can get just the Vault shipped to you for $1500 but nothing signed.

Kinda freaked as I thought it was Friday when I seen all these new albums John!
Some cool stuff coming up in the next 3 months..
QR intrigues as I seen the set list and I’m sucker for those tunes….
I have a review posted for next Monday on Lazy Halen and I toss down my 2 cents worth of comments…hahaha

Sorry to freak you out. I probably should have posted this Friday since there is no new release post. Instead you have a Gen X review coming on Friday.
Looking forward to that post.

Wow! Thanks for putting all that together. New Pearl Jam would please me greatly. Also, it’s nice to see Tool on the list but it’s been so long I’m not counting on anything no matter what they say…

You are welcome. Yes, a new Pearl Jam release would be awesome. I am not completely excited about the list so far. I hope we get a few more good ones that we don’t know about yet. I hope Def Leppard releases Volume 2 of their collection series. I really want Retroactive and Slang on vinyl and those should be in that set.
