Welcome back to Friday New Releases. We don’t have as many as last week, but we have a solid list of new albums for you to try this week. I want to hear the new Myles Kennedy and I have the Def Leppard One Night Only on order. I have the RSD Vinyl release, but need the CD / Blu Ray too! Jelly Roll will probably be the big release this week for most if you like that thing. Let me know what you want to hear this week or what we missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!
Myles Kennedy – The Art of Letting Go – (Napalm Records)
Def Leppard – One Night Only: Live at the Leadmill May 19, 2023 – (Mercury Studios) – CD/DVD/BluRay
The Offspring – Supercharged – (Wabi Sabi Worldwid / Concord)
Happy Friday!! And you made it another week, good for you. We have a ton of new releases for you this week. In fact, Frontiers Records thought you need some new albums so they are releasing a whopping total of at least 9 albums that I have listed. I have complained about them in the past as I don’t understand how they can release so many albums on the same day. No ones wallet can handle that. It doesn’t seem fair to me or the artists because people will have to choose which one they want to buy as there artists are some what the same type of genre. Now, I guess I am kidding myself because most people stream and not buy, but still the point has been made. No more rambling on and on. I only have one I’m interested in hearing this week and it is marked in Blue. There a couple my kids might be interested in so they are up after my choice and then there are at least 23 more to choose from so hopefully you will find something. Let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
Rob Zombie – The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy – (Nuclear Blast): Rob Zombie is back and John 5 is still in tow on guitar. I will admit, I like Rob, but I am a huge fan of John 5 so that is the main reason I want to hear this is so I can see what new insane stuff Mr. 5 pulls out of his hat. Crank It MutherF###er!!
The ones my kids might be streaming…
Nick Jonas – Spaceman – (Island Records / UMG): One third of the famous boy/brother band the Jonas Brothers, Nick is back with a new solo album. After a successful turn with his brothers, he is ready to go back out on his own. I am sure this will be played in my house a little so not much I am going to be able to do about it (maybe I could shut off their internet access…that’s an idea!!)
Another Friday and another week of some great releases. There are some re-issues and so old bands back with new singers and some newer bands as well. Hopefully there is something for you. The two that really peak my interests are highlighted in Blue as usual. Leave me a comment on what interests you this week…if anything. Also, let me know if I am missing anything as that is usually the case. Happy Friday!!
Stone Temple Pilots – Stone Temple Pilots – (Play Pen Music): The boys in STP are back and with a new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. The three songs I have heard are great and I am looking forward to the rest. Jeff sounds a little like the late, great Scott Weilan, but he also has his own sound and style. The old STP sound is there as well so hopefully the have their groove back and we will see some great things from them. Give it a try…if for no other reason than my brother-in-law was involved with recording the album. That makes it worth it right there alone!!
Dorothy – 28 Days in the Valley – (Roc Nation Records): A new band on the scene is Dorothy. The band really delivers some great, heavy, old school blues rock & roll. The lead singer, Dorothy Martin, is a powerhouse and force to be reckoned with. Her searing vocals exploded on the scene with “Raise a Little Hell” and can’t wait to hear what she has to offer this time around.
