Hey guys and gals! Happy Friday! We have another large list of releases for you this week. I will apologize upfront as there are not videos for all of the releases as I am writing this, I am recovering from surgery and it is rather uncomfortable so don’t feel up to a the full post, but at least want to get you a list of the top releases for the week. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you are most looking forward to hearing this week and what we may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!!
Ellefson / Soto – Vacation in the Underworld – (Rat Pak Records): Jeff Scott Soto and former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson join forces for what I hope is a total beast of an album. It is cool sometimes to hear Soto go heavy. My review on this will be one of the last reviews in the Jeff Scott Soto Series so it will be awhile before we get to it.
The Cult – Under the Midnight Sun – (Black Hill Records / Round Hill Records): Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy bless us with another album as it has been 6 years since the last. Sign me up please!!
Bush The Art of Survival – (Zuma Rock Records / BMG Rights Mgmt): I actually enjoyed their last album, so this one will get cued up for sure. Glad to see Gavin Rossdale and gang back.
Queensryche – Digital Noise Alliance – (Century Media Records): Todd La Torre and Queensryche have been giving us quality and quantity and so I will give this one a try as well.

Cult and Soto . Looks like Christmas came early for you…
It’s been 6 months from my surgery and just now my stomach is getting to feel normal. Watch what u eat and if possible cut back a little and add plenty of greens to your diet. I just started jogging last month and that I feel has helped a lot. Good recovery to you!

Wow, I see a few on my radar today – Alvvays, The Cure, The Cult. I ordered The Cure reissue, though I’m told it won’t come until late November. I guess Robert wants us Canadians to wait a little while longer. Oh well.

Though I’m not in a hurry, Queensryche are a compulsory purchase. They’re cranking out albums rather fast in order to stay out there on the road and making money, so I feel like I have not even absorbed the last 2 albums fully.

Yeah there’s a handful this week. The same two as you, plus Lamb Of God and Goatwhore. A few others for me to check in on too.

Ellefson/Soto is pretty darn good…bonus tracks are better than some of the album tracks.

The top 4 for me. Plus maybe King Gizzard. It must be their 300th album by now.
Also, I got the “new” re-release of the Harem Scarem S/T album on vinyl from Amazon (today is the Amazon release day). It’s 180g of gold/clear audiophile vinyl limited to 1000 copies. 🙂

The Cult album is excellent. They’ve got rid of all the rick bluster and gone back to the sound of their first couple of releases, I love it the songs have room to breathe a bit more.
