Friday New Releases – November 4th

Happy Friday! Take a look at the list of new releases and see what floats your boat.  There are a few I am really excited and interested to hear, but one of those I don’t have much hope that it will be good (Bon Jovi).  The ones I will be attacking first are highlighted in Blue.

  • 61acgdxyfll-_ac_us160_  Bon Jovi – This House Is Not For Sale – (Island Records):  Bon Jovi’s track record over their last 3-4 albums has been piss poor.  A couple songs I have heard so far suck!!!, but some were decent.  Still doesn’t give me much hope that this will be any good. I will still listen off the extreme hope that one day they will find glory again.

  • cover170x170-35  Robbie Williams – The Heavy Entertainment Show – (Robert Williams/Farrell Music):  I am a huge Robbie Williams fan. I have never understood how he didn’t have much success stateside, but that is okay as I like him anyway.  Eagerly anticipating this release.  I am sure it will be great.  Read my post on the Top 20 Robbie Williams songs.  I wonder if any of these songs will force me to update that list???

Friday New Releases – October 21st

Friday again and we are definitely getting closer to Christmas as there are several Christmas albums on the new release schedule (and I don’t want to listen to any of them!!!).  Thank goodness there are some great rock releases as well. If you like women rockers, there are two great ones coming out today in The Pretty Reckless and The Pretenders.  So many to listen to and can’t wait to hear them. My choices are highlighted in Blue.

  • The-Pretty-Reckless-Who-You-Seeling-For-2016-226x226  Pretty Reckless – Who You Selling For – (Razor & Tie):  Taylor Momsen and gang are ready for the new hard rock release.  Taylor has a great voice that is perfect to rock out.  She is amazing and so is this band. High hopes for this one.

61paiql5ul-_ac_us160_  The Pretenders – Alone – (BMG):  This was an unexpected surprise. So excited that Chrissie Hynde is back. I have followed them since the early 80’s and love everything they do. This is a must for me.

Bon Jovi – Tour Dates 2017

Bon Jovi announced their new tour dates in support of their upcoming album ‘This House is Not For Sale’.  Not sure how excited I am about seeing them again as I have seen them several times.  Plus, they are not coming to Charlotte so I will not be traveling anywhere to see them.  But maybe you can.

People who have seen them in concert recently have already heard the whole album, but I have only heard three songs off the new album. Two are okay “This House is Not For Sale” and “Knockout”.  The third song, “Labor of Love”, is just plain awful. Nothing is GREAT!! so far.  Here is to still holding out a little hope for some great songs.

Bon Jovi – Deep Dive Playlist

With the release of a new single, “This House is Not For Sale”, and a new album coming soon, I had to go back and listen to Bon Jovi all over again.  In listening, I started really enjoying the deep album cuts the best as the singles have been so over played over the years.

Despite the shortcomings of their last few albums, I am and will always be a fan.  Even with all the crap going on between Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora.  Bon Jovi, in my opinion, is not Bon Jovi without Richie Sambora.

Anyway, here are my favorite Non-Single tracks in no particular order:

“Blood on Blood” off New Jersey:  If there is one thing Bon Jovi was always great about was telling a great story in the their songs.  This one is my favorite.  The story of brotherhood & friendship.  I have always dreamed about taking this song and turning it into a novel and exploring what would happen if the main character from the song actually did get that “call in the middle of the night”.  The video is a live version of the song, but go back and listen to the album version to capture all the emotions.

New Bon Jovi Song – “This House is not For Sale”

Bon Jovi have released a new video called “This House is not For Sale” off their new album of the same name.  The new album will be out on October 12 of this year.  I am interested in what they have to offer although their last few releases have not been good at all so my expectations are very limited.

It looks like guitarist, Phil X, is now an official member of the band and is featured on the new album.  I guess any hope of Richie Sambora coming back keep slipping away.  But I am okay with it as I am excited to see what Richie is working on with guitarist Orianthi.  Enough about that…here is the video.
