Happy April. Hopefully, April has treated you well so and hopefully the new releases this week will be a treat as well. We have around 50 this week and a wide variety as well. There is nothing I’m running out and buying, but I’d like to hear the new Black Keys and even see what the Garbage Deluxe Edition for ‘Bleed Like Me’ has to offer. Let me know what you want to hear and also what we may have missed so everyone knows what is out there. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
The Black Keys – Ohio Players – (Nonesuch Records)
Garbage – Bleed Like Me (Deluxe Edition) – (Interscope Records / UMG)
Another Friday is upon us and I am glad you made it through another week. I am sure my kids are glad it is Friday as well since they started school this past week. It is a different type of school for them now thanks to COVID. But one thing that hasn’t changed is Friday is new release day. There is a lot here this week, but there isn’t at the same time. There is one I am looking forward to and one I will give a spin as it looks interesting and they are both marked in Blue. Let me know what you are excited about and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!!
The Lemon Twigs – Songs for the General Public – (4AD Ltd): I know nothing about this band, but the album cover with them dressed very glam like has made me interested in spinning this one. I need something new, so hopefully this will satisfy that craving.
The Killers – Imploding the Mirage – (Island Records): This album got bounced around so much due to Covid, I lost track of the release date and missed having it as a featured cover on the header. However, this is the main one I would want to hear this week. Sorry this was added late, but it has been added.
Wow! Another HUGE week of releases. There are a ton I am interested in and some I have bought already or will be very, very soon. There is a wide range of artists covering Rock, Metal, Country, R&B, Pop, Showtunes, Christian, Alternative, Hip Hop and many more. There has to be something you will be digging. If not, let me know and let me if there is. I love to know what people are in to and whether or not I am missing out on anything good. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Have a great weekend!!
Needtobreathe – Acoustic Live, Vol. 1 – (Atlantic Records): If you read my site, you know this is one of my favorite bands so it is no wonder this tops the list. The vinyl is on order and I hope I get it on release day, but doubt it since it is from the NTB webstore and not Amazon. Oh well! The album is a collection of acoustic tracks from their acoustic tour last year. All classic NTB tracks and these guys are fantastic live, so high expectations.
Chris Cornell – Chris Cornell (Deluxe) – (Universal Music): This set looks S.W.E.E.T.!! An extensive greatest hits compilation of his Soundgarden, Audioslave and Solo work among some rare treats as well. This is another must have in the physical form. It is on the Christmas list and if I don’t get it, I will immediately buy on Amazon Christmas Day.
There is a lot of Rock albums out today and I am super excited and hope I can get through them all. Frontiers Records normally does 4 albums every month but today they bring us 5 albums that could keep me very busy. I have highlighted in Blue the ones I am most excited about. I am sure there is something this week for everyone.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard – Flying Microtonal Banana – (Flightless Records): King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are back after only one year and now they are top on my list. I had never heard of them until I did a music challenge where I pick an album to listen to based solely on the band name, the album name or the album cover and I picked them. Read about it here. I found that album to be stellar and now they will be the first thing I listen to on this day out of all the new releases. They are a very unique band and probably an acquired taste and the song “Rattlesnake” makes me a little worried about this release, but I will still listen.
Mike Tramp – Maybe Tomorrow – (Target Records): Mike Tramp keeps pumping out the solo music and he brings us a new one to enjoy. The former lead singer of 80’s rock band, White Lion, has carved path in his solo work that is nothing like his former band and that is okay. He never disappoints.
