Welcome to May and a very dismal week of releases…at least for me. There isn’t much I am interested in this week which will hopefully help me catch up on what I missed while on vacation. There is one I am interest in and another I might check out, but that is all. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what interests you or if I missed anything. Or just stop by and say hi! Whatever floats your boat. Have a great weekend!!!
- Joy Williams – Front Porch – (Sensibility Records): Is she the better half of the band The Civil Wars that were together from about 2009-2014? I don’t know. I guess that depends if you liked her voice or John Paul White’s voice better. I love her voice and enjoyed her first solo album after the breakup, so I am looking forward to hear what new she has to offer. The band was more American folk and I can you classify her that still. Whatever you want to definite it, it is some great songwriting.
- New Found Glory – From the Screen to Your Stereo 3 – (Hopeless Records): NFG has been hit or miss over the years. I am not sure I will enjoy this at it their 3rd covers album, but you never know what you will get so I might give it a shot. Just glad to see a band from the 90’s still going at it as it seems a lot of bands from that decade aren’t around anymore.

May 18th, 2017. A sad day for music fans everywhere. Chris Cornell died and left this world, but lucky for us, he left a tremendous music legacy. For the first time, a collection has been released that is a wonderful retrospective view of his entire career.
The 4CD set (64 Tracks) takes you on a remarkable journey through the life of Chris Cornell starting with his early days of Soundgarden from as early as 1987 through to his work with Audioslave and his solo output with one brand new track that had never previously been released. There are also 10 unreleased live tracks with some outstanding performances from throughout his career.
The first CD is basically a greatest hits collection of Soundgarden tracks with the exception of two songs from Temple of the Dog and one solo track The collection spans the late 80’s and the 90’s.

Happy Friday!! We made it through another week. Now let’s enjoy the weekend with some great new music. There is so much to choose from this weekend and some I can’t wait to grab a hold of and sonically consume. Let me know what your interested in, and as always, my most anticipated ones are highlighted in Blue. There are a lot so I am only going to comment on four of them, the others Bruce Springsteen and Joe Bonamassa are just too obvious choices that I am sure a lot of you are interested in as well.
- Airbourne – Breakin’ Outta Hell – (Spinefarm): Are you ready to rock 80’s style? Then turn that volume up and rock your ass off with Airbourne. One of the most exciting retro rock bands to come out in the last 10 years. Listen to the title track and then go get this album and turn to 11.
