Wow! Another month in the books. 3 more to go before we finish out the year. Time flies by!! We end the month with a nice haul of well over 50 releases. I only want to hear a handful of these and they will be marked in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear this week and what we may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend!
Richard Marx – Songwriter – (Shelter Music Group / BMG Rights Mgt): Can you believe Richard Marx is on his 13th Studio album. Crazy! But thankfully for us he is as I will always take new music from. I’ve been a fan of this pop artist since his mullet days! This album consists of songs in 4 different genres – pop, rock, country and ballads. Interesting.
Monster Truck – Warriors – (BMG Rights Mgmt): This Canadian hard rock, blues rock, southern rock band is back with another album. Have they run their course. I hope not, can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this time around.
Happy Friday!! Another work week behind us and new music weekend ahead of us. Does it get any better than that? Nope! This Friday, however, there are not a ton of releases (at least not that I am interested in. There is one I am anxious to hear and the rest…neh. There is one I will hear whether I want to or not thanks to my daughter and another I might listen to as I am not sure I get this band and see if this one changes my mind at all. MY choices are in Blue. Let me know what tickles your fancy or if I missed anything. Thanks and have a great Weekend!!
Wilder Woods – Wilder Woods – (Atlantic Records): This is the only release I am excited about and have ordered the vinyl which hopefully will there when I get home from work!! Bear Rinehart, lead singer for one of all time favorite bands, Needtobreathe, has a side project called Wilder Woods. The music is different from Needtobreathe, but that voice is the same. It is another opportunity to explore something different and spread his wings of creativity. It is a little lighter at times and yet darker as well as he explores different sides of himself than what you would normally get. I can’t wait to explore this one.
Slipknot – We Are Not Your Kind – (Roadrunner Records): Okay, here is a band I have never really listened to. A little heavier than I like or maybe a little stranger than I like. The mask, yeah whatever, the music, eeeh, but I might give it a listen to see what the hubbub is about. Don’t expect I will like this any more (or any less) then their other stuff.
Slipknot is back with new music and new masks. So, what does that mean for you? I don’t have a clue. But for me, it means it is time to celebrate all things Slipknot. Their memes are so good, we are breaking it up in to two parts. Part 1 is this week and Part 2 you get next Tuesday. Even if you don’t know the band, you should be able to get most of these. They are too easy of a band not to poke fun of and why not…look at them!!
Halloween is a fun time to dress up into your alter ego whether it is Tramping out or going full on scary. The following bands don’t need Halloween to go full on scary because they are that way all the time. I am going to keep the list rather mainstream because there is some really crazy sh#t out there that actually scares me, but probably too crude and disturbing to actually post.
Here are the some of the Scariest Rock Bands that have crossed our path.
Slipknot: A heavy metal band out of Iowa, Slipknot is known for the stage shows where the band dresses up in similar clothing but each wearing masks that are very unique and quite scary at times. The band would do a lot of stage diving, fighting and occasionally would light other band members on fire which made for a crazy concert experience.
