When I heard there was a new Jimi Jamison album, I was excited as he passed away so many years ago. Then, I heard it was a country album and that excitement waned a little. However, I will still check it out. My daughters are super excited for Sabrina Carpenters new album and with 2 #1 Singles so far, this one should be huge. Friday New Releases – September 29, 2023

The end of another month has arrived and only 3 more to go this year. Crazy how time flies. One way to enjoy the time flying by is listening to new music and we have another large batch of new releases for you this week. There are almost 50 this time around. There are a handful I want to check out, don’t know if I’ll buy, but I’ll listen like KK’s Priest, Black Stone Cherry and even Red…and probably Green Day’s Dookie Deluxe Set…maybe I’ll buy that one, it looks cool. Let me know what you want to hear this week. I am sure a lot of you might like Ed Sheeran’s new one or maybe even LANY as I’m sure those will be pretty popular this week. Friday New Releases – April 1, 2022

It might be April Fool’s Day, but there are no pranks with this list of new releases. We don’t have as many as we normally do, but there are still well over 35+ releases this week. John Frusciante is BACK!!! For that reason alone, I am excited about this release and if the old magic can be found again.
  • 71NdWztNErL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Aldo Nova – The Life and Times of Eddie Gage – (MRI): After talking about it for 2 years or more, Aldo Nova is finally releasing is Rock Opera ‘The Life And Times of Eddie Gage”…ok, well not the whole thing. This appears to be a 10 song sampler. I have this on order, but I wonder why he just doesn’t release the whole damn thing. We will see if Aldo still has the goods.

Friday New Releases – April 30, 2021

Friday April 30th…the end of another month. And this week, we actually have 30 new releases for you to look over. Hopefully something in this bunch will float your boat. My boat is rocking with a couple killer releases and then my boat feels a little country too with another. My choices are in Blue.   • 61NQMk7UwhL._SX522_  Royal Bloods – Typhoons – (Warner Bros): This album was supposed to come out last year and I have been waiting a long while for it to finally arrive. Their last album, the 2017 “How Did We Get So Dark?”, was smashing. If you like rock with a little blues, a little garage rock sound and just plain hard, then this is for you!!
  • 81LwZfkaQoL._SS500_  Gojira – Fortitudes – (Roadrunner Records): If Royal Blood isn’t heavy enough for you then Gojira might more up your alley. This French metal band has the goods and delivers all the time. The last album was back in 2016 and was called “Magma” and it was a lava filled volcano of rock. This should be just as good or better…yes, expectations are high!!

Friday New Releases – May 31st

Welcome to the last Friday of May!!  Let the Summer heat and fun begin!!  School is almost out for the kids, but busy times ahead for me.  Let’s end the month with some new releases.  I have a few I am interested in hearing and they are highlighted in Blue.  There is a handful of releases this week so let me know what you are interested in or if I missed something that needs a shout out!  I hope there is something for you.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

  • 819tYFEUphL._SS500_  Kenny Wayne Shepherd – The Traveler – (Concord Music Group):  First up for me is KWS and that awesome blues guitar.  Kenny has been around awhile now and his last release was stellar so expect more of the same with this. It is funny how his Blues actually makes me feel good.  Is that the way it is supposed to work?

  • 81BCSsOw5gL._SS500_  Duff McKagan – Tenderness – (Universal Music):  The Guns ‘n Roses bass player is back with a new solo album which is the first one in 20 years (not counting the 8 years since his band Loaded’s last album).  I don’t have high expectations or any for that matter, but I am curious as to what he has to offer and he has earned the respect for a listen.  I want some new GNR music though!!!

Friday New Releases – September 8th

Finally!!! The new releases start picking up.  August was such a slow month, but it is about to get busy.  The floodgates are opening and the new releases are coming in full force.  So hold on and open your wallets, it is going to get expensive.  This week gets off nicely and the ones I am interested in are highlighted in Blue.  There should be something in here for everyone especially some great rock and a ton of country.  Let me know what you like.

  • 61u4pnXwDyL._AC_US218_  Alter Bridge – Live at the O2 Arena + Rarities – (Napalm Records):  Alter Bridge live is going to be good.  You have the boys from Creed and Myles Kennedy who is one of the hardest working singers in the business between Alter Bridge, Slash and so many other projects, he is always working.  There have been a lot of good live albums lately and this should be no exception.  The plus side is there are a bunch of rare tracks on here as well that really has my interest.

  • 61hNZekCmAL._AC_US218_  Jonny Lang – Signs – (Concord Records):  Blues rocker Jonny Lang is back with his first album in 4 years and it has been way too long.  I am looking forward to hearing some more of his guitar magic.  With a new album from Kenny Wayne Shepherd and now Jonny, blues rock is alive and kicking.

Friday New Releases – October 28th

It feels like I just did this last week…oh wait…I did.  Another Friday and another week full of Christmas albums.  I can’t wait (he says very sarcastically).  There are a plethora of new releases, but only a few must haves for me.  There a few metal ones down the list I will probably give a listen to as well.  The most intriguing for me are highlighted in Blue.
