I have a handful I want to check and I will mark those in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear this week or let me know if I missed anything even though I have over 50, it is bound to happen. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

  • download-8  Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators – 4 – (Snakepit Records / Gibson Records / BMG): Slash and Myles together again…is it possible to have burnout on these two?? I am not sure I am there yet, but getting close. However, I will check this one out as I like Slash and I like Myles…so really a no brainer.
  • 912DX03hpZL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Eddie Vedder – Earthling – (Republic Records): Eddie Vedder is back with another solo album. That is enough for me. I’ll check it out as I’m always interested to hear what he brings that is different than Pearl Jam.

What to Expect in New Music for 2022??

2022 is upon us and it is always fun anticipating what new albums will come out in the year. There are quite a few we already know about, but some haven’t been officially announced or even a date set yet.

Last year, there were a few artist I was hoping would release an album that might have or might not have released one.  It is always fun to hope for new music from these bands, but sometimes there are disappointments.  Here are the ones I was hoping to get new albums from last year and what actually happened…

  • Def Leppard – I don’t care if I get new music, but give me The Collection Volume 3 at least!!! – We did get The Collection Volume 3!!!
  • Kiss – I will keep this on the list until I die!! – We did get a Live Bootleg album in what I hope is the first of many!!
  • The Winery Dogs – Still keeping my hopes up – No Album, BUT…they are working on a new album for 2022
  • Guns ‘N Roses – Rumors, Rumors, Rumors!! – STILL NOTHING…But did get a couple singles!
  • Aldo Nova – He keeps talking about a 2CD set, but will he get around to releasing it?? After 2 years still nothing…he keeps saying its coming but I will believe it when I see it!!
  • Matt Nathanson – Loved what we got last year, but time for new music!!! I believe he finished recording it, but haven’t heard anything for a long while. – He has recorded it but Covid delayed it. It Will Be 2022!!  We did get a live album so that was cool! Now he did surprise us with a U2 covers album called Achtung Matty!

Okay, are there albums I want to see this year from some of my favorite bands that haven’t been announced or in some cases even rumored?  Of course there are.  These are the bands I want new albums from this year…but it might not happen.

  • Def Leppard – They’ve been writing…will we get the new album in 2022??  Or at least The Collection Vol. 4 which is the final in the series
  • Kiss – I will keep this on the list until I die!!  At least give us another Soundboard LP.
  • Guns ‘N Roses – Rumors, Rumors, Rumors!!  They teased us with a couple singles, is an album in the works?
  • Aldo Nova – He keeps talking about a 2CD set for over 2 years and still nothing much, but will he get around to releasing it in 2022??
  • Poison – I think it is finally time for a new Poison album!!
  • Will Hoge – His last one was 2020 so now is the time for another!
  • Billy Idol – He teased us with an E.P. in 2021.  A full album would be nice

From what I have gathered around the internet, here are the bands that should have new albums out in 2021, but no dates announced yet. The ones I would give a try will be highlighted in Blue.  The ones with Dates Announced are at the bottom of this post.  The list is building up nicely!! “My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, and Drugs, and Guns N’ Roses” by Stephen Adler with Lawrence J. Spagnola – Book Review

Wow, I think the title really sums up this book.  Steven Adler’s biography details one of the most destructive paths of any rock star out there.  The many overdoses, heart attacks, strokes, it is amazing this many is still alive let alone still able to talk or ever play.  Wait, lets not forget the suicide attempts and the times he spent as a quest of the penitentiary system.  I’m exhausted just thinking about what he went through.

This biography popped up on Amazon for the Kindle at the amazing price of $0. And I will say it was worth more than that price.  I really did enjoy reading his story even though it is the same story as a lot of rock stars except maybe more destructive and he actually survives.  It is told as if Steven is sitting there with you and talking to you and it is a simple, fast-paced and easy read which helps make it a little more enjoyable.

Ozzy Osbourne – ‘Ordinary Man’ – Album Review

It has been 10 years since Ozzy’s last studio album and yet somehow, the man is still relevant.  How relevant, so relevant in fact that Post Malone had him guest on one of his songs. So there is a whole new generation of people discovering Ozzy.  And better late than never.

Now, it might be 10 years since his last studio album, but the last studio album I bought was 1987’s ‘The Ultimate Sin’ and the last Ozzy album I bought was 1997’s ‘The Ozzman Cometh’ so it has been a lot longer for me.

With the sad news of Ozzy’s Parkinson diagnosis and hearing that Post Malone song, I thought I would give this album a try as I figured it might be his last (thankfully, it isn’t as he is already working on another).  To my surprise, I was completely blown away by this album.  The album is full of hooks, melodies, great guitar solos and Ozzy hasn’t sounded better.  The album is so accessible and harkens back for me to ‘The Ultimate Sin’ in catchiness and how radio friendly it is.  Some fans might not like that, but I couldn’t be happier.

The guests on this album are immense.  The main rhythm section is Duff McKagan on bass (GNR) and Chad Smith on drums (Red Hot Chili Peppers), but that isn’t all.  You get Slash, Tom Morello, Elton John, Charlie Puth, Post Malone, Travis Scott, Andrew Watt and even daughter Kelly Osbourne on backing vocals.  A mix of old and new with the musicians and it comes across in the music. Friday New Releases – September 20th

Another great Friday with another huge selection of releases.  However, the selections aren’t “huge’, if you know what I mean.  There a handful I am interested in hearing, but nothing I am running out and buying.  Streaming for me on these…unless one is so good it warrants a purchase.  I wonder if I have gotten through all the ones from last week (I am writing this two weeks out)  but I doubt it.  Anyway, my choices are highlighted in Blue.  Let me know what you want to hear or if there is anything I missed.  Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

  • 81ejtYxP8SL._SS500_.jpg  Keane – Cause and Effect – (Island Records):  Keane’s debut in 2004, ‘Hopes and Fears’ was fantastic and their second was pretty great as well.  As a result, I do enjoy checking out anything they put out.  Nothing has lived up to those two releases, but still find a golden nugget in each release and they hope is the same on this one.  “Is It Any Wonder” why I would keep trying?  Not really.  Great English Pop.

  • 81IXOqiMnXL._AC_UL115_.jpg  Slash with Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators – Living the Dream Tour (Live) – (Snakepit Records):  Let’s see…Slash √…Myles Kennedy √…both of them together √…and Live √…I don’t think I need any other reasons to “check” this out do I.
