Summer has been heating up and so did the purchases for this month. This month had some serious quality for me and at the same time some quantity as well. And the month came in with a bang as all my Def Leppard albums I ordered finally made it in. When I say “all”, I mean the new one and all the formats I ordered. I’m starting to like it too!
And it kept on going with a huge sale at 2nd & Charles having a buy 5 CDs get 5 CDs free and I took advantage of that discount. My daughter joined me and picked up some DVDs and CDs as the sale applied to those as well. First batch is all Kiss!!
Yes, I copied from Mike Ladano’s page because I’m too lazy to write my own…but he sums it up nicely! Come catch the show tonight at 7pm!!
The LeBrain Train: 2000 Words or More with Mike & John
Episode 109 – Cassettes “Snow & Tell”
It is true when I say that 95% of my cassettes went into a Thunder Bay landfill. Then I misguidedly dumped more when I did some downsizing in 2019. Only recently have I realized that there are diehard collectors (cough cough Tim Durling) out there who want albums on every format, including cassette. They don’t necessarily play them, they just show them off. There are a bunch of tapes I wish I kept for that reason. Helix – Wild in the Streets with glow in the dark cassette. Sammy Hagar self-titled with a weird cover that wrapped around the outside of the tape case. Dozens that I recorded myself, with my own artwork on them. All gone, forever.
Tonight, join John Snow from 2Loud2OldMusic as we gather what remains of our tapes for a truly magnetic “Snow & Tell” show! What we have left is what you will see tonight. A lot of mix tapes, and I hope you enjoy. I know it’ll be fun to dig through these old cassettes. My oldest tapes go back to about 1984. My newest are from 2022. John has small selection to show off as well, so join us tonight for some tapes!
Can you believe another month has passed? At least Spring is here and temperatures are starting to warm and trees are pushing out pollen and blanketing the world in some sort of yellow dust that is making by white car look pretty dirty. Thanks for that Mother Nature. At least one bright spot is all the purchases made during the month. Let’s get started.
First up my kids and I went to Lunchbox Records as we hadn’t been in a long time. They each bought something and so did I. I picked up a 2021 bootleg of Wicked Lester’s first album or what was supposed to be their first album. Wicked Lester is Gene and Paul’s band before Kiss. I already have a Wicked Lester bootleg but this had a couple songs I didn’t have and now I do. Yes, a review is coming.
And then shortly after, I received a delivery from Japan. It is the Japanese Edition of the Danger Danger Album “Screw It” with bonus tracks and the prized OBI Strip. Now to get the Japanese debut album for a decent price as this one was cheap.
Sit back, grab some coffee as it will take you awhile to get through this list. We have around 75 releases for you this week so there is bound to be something for you to listen to this week. Maybe more than one thing. For me, my choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear this week and what we may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and let’s get to the releases…
Michael Bublé – Higher – (Reprise Records): What can I say, I like Buble!! That voice is incredible and I like that whole Crooner thing as well.
Hardcore Superstar – Abrakadabra – (Golden Robot Records): If you like Modern Glam Rock then you know Sweden delivers some of the best. Hardcore Superstar is a band worth checking out and I will be doing that today!!
Tonight, I will be guesting on The LeBrain Train while we do some “Show & Tell”…or what Mike likes to call it…”Snow & Tell”. Catchy, I know! See what else Mike has to say below and we will see you tonight at 7pm!!
This is a show that people have been wanting for a long time! So what do we do? We give the people what they want!

Episode 102 – “Snow” and Tell: Rock and Roll Collectables
Tonight on the LeBrain Train, Mike will be joined by John Snow of 2Loud2OldMusic fame once more, to compare collectibles! “Show and Tell” shows are always casual and fun, and this one will be special! While our collections are modest compared to some, they aren’t too shabby and should be more than enough to keep you entertained on a Friday night. We will be joined by Harrison the Mad Metal Man who has a couple cool things to show off as well. What will we see? Action figures, Funko Pops, tour programs, ticket stubs and lots more! (Personally, I hope to see the world’s only Blaze Bayley bobblehead.)
As for me, I intend to tear apart my music room live tonight, to show you everything I can! Some items, like my Spinal Tap and Beatles figures, are in storage. There’s still plenty here to enjoy! I have old newspaper clippings and all sorts of cool stuff to rediscover here. Grab a beverage and settle for a fun Friday with us tonight!
February is over so it is time for our monthly round-up of what 2 Loud 2 Old Music got their hands on this month and it was another banner month. It all started with a trip to the antique mart called Sleepy Poets. My daughter loves that place and I don’t mind because there are records and I found a couple good ones. One was the only early Stryper album I was missing and the other was one of my mother’s favorite bands Air Supply so I had to buy it. I miss her a lot so it will be something in my collection that when I am really, really missing her I can pull out and play.
Then the following week, my daughter wanted to hit more antique shops as she loves to find old vintage clothes at not a too ridiculous of a price. The first place we hit in Mathews said it was an antique place, but really it was a record store and now I have another great place to go buy albums!! Yeah me!! I found some great vinyl, CDs, singles and cassettes…they had it all. First are the albums, which are an early pressing of Mariah Carey’s debut on vinyl and a Billy Idol 12″ Single of Mony Mony.
Join me tonight on The LeBrain Train as we go through our Top 5 Ballads!! See what Mike Ladano says about his show below…

Episode 99 – Top Ballads…Remastered
On July 3 2020, we did the Nigel Tufnel Top Ten Ballads on the LeBrain Train with six sets of lists. And it was great! We had lists from Meat, Harrison, Holen, Darr, and Len Labelle. Unfortunately due to Facebook Live and a bad internet connection, I find this show impossible to watch today. Harrison and I have been trying to talk Meat into doing a “remastered” version of the show in the new Cinco De Listo format for a long time, and we finally twisted his arm. The new panel tonight:
“X”? That’s right. This week’s show is not just a list show. There will be a sixth panel member, and that member’s voice and likeness will be obscured for the whole countdown. It will be up to the others to figure out who “X” is, and they have five songs with which to do it.
I love a mystery and I’m really looking forward to this! Tune in tonight for six lists of awesome ballads, and a little Friday evening mystery too. Where’s Mulder when you need him?
The LeBrain Train: 2000 Words or More with Mike & Friends
Come join me tonight as I worm my in to tonight’s episode of The LeBrain Train. See what Mike says below about the show…it will be lots of fun. Will Britney Spears, NSync or Backstreet Boys make an appearance on the list…OMG I hope not!!! But a lot of great ones will! I think my list will differ greatly from the others so should be interesting.
Episode 98 – The Millennium Show: Top Five Albums from the year 2000
A suggestion from the Meat Man — why not do our top albums from the year 2000? The turn of the millennium was a weird time in metal. A lot of bands were still suffering from the fallout of the past decade, while others were in the midst of big comebacks. But there were so much more than just metal in 2000, as you will see with tonight’s lists!
Give ’em a follow while you’re at it, and make sure you don’t miss tonight’s show! As always, the best way is to catch it live so you can participate in the comments. And as usual, there will be special unboxings for those who show up early! There could be something “ABSUЯD” in there.
Community! With this website, I have discovered that there are a lot of people out there that love to talk music. That group of bloggers/writers that I have met have made me feel at home and I’ve found a real sense of Community among them. One person in particular seems to epitomize that feeling of Community above all others. That would be Aaron over at KeepsMeAlive. He has sent me something before and this one was completely out of the blue. He apparently was strolling through a store and saw this thing all by himself and felt it needed a good home.
What he found was the Funko Pop! of Billy Idol. Aaron knew I was a Billy fan because of the Billy Idol Series I did a couple years ago (and because he sent me a Generation X album as well a couple years back too!!. He might be one of the nicest guys in the world (at least in North America anyway). Aaron is in Canada and I’m in the U.S. so I know this took some effort to get it shipped across the border (especially in this Covid World). It was much appreciated. So, Thank You Aaron!! You found Billy Idol a good home.

Episode 96 – Picture Discs Show & Tell
Mike had so much fun showing off his 7″ singles collection a few weeks ago! When brainstorming for ideas to do this week, I suggested picture discs. Great idea! At least Mike thought so, and as a result, I will be joining Mike Ladano tonight for a guaranteed fun time, a show and tell show. We’ll be rediscovering what we own in picture disc form, since we buy so many records, We can’t remember them all. 10″, 12″, and shaped vinyl will be on deck for us tonight. And if we’re lucky, maybe we will see some Kiss and Def Leppard….
We will also be including etched discs from our collections.
If the 7″ singles show was any indication, then this will be a blast. Make sure you catch it live to participate!
If you are reading this, then you are a part of the community! The Keeps Me Alive guys were here first! Geoff from 1001 Albums, Scott our Heavy Metal Overlord, and LeBrain all came after. I consider James and Aaron to the founders of the community. Saturday February 5 at 7:00 PM, we will sit down and chat with Aaron and (for the first time ever) James about their history with music and writing about it. This show has been a long time coming! I have wanted to spotlight the KMA for a year and a half now. Next week will be a party, I promise you.
We will also have a 10 Year Anniversary of Record Store Tales and a 2 Year Anniversary of the LeBrain Train, both coming in March! If you would like to participate in either, drop us a line.
