Friday New Releases – December 2, 2022

Published on by 2loud2oldmusic20 Comments

We are getting closer to Christmas and the end of the year so releases tend to start slowing down and this week is pretty slow. A couple great box sets coming and I can’t believe Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s album ‘Trouble’ is 25 years old already. I think I’ll give that one a listen for sure. Let me know what you want to hear this week and what we may have missed on the list. Thanks for stopping by and next week will have a few more releases then this week.

Friday New Releases – October 1, 2021

Published on by 2loud2oldmusic30 Comments

Welcome to October and there is abundance to keep you busy this month. Maybe not as much as weeks past but still a broad range of releases that there is bound to be something up your alley. I have quite a few I want to hear including some Super Deluxe Editions of older albums as there are a ton of those almost every week now. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and even what I may have missed that way everyone will know. Thanks so much for the continued support, stopping by and commenting. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

  • 81fxj6-rtnS._SS500_  KK’s Priest – Sermons of the Sinner – (EX1 Records): K.K. Downing, formerly of Judas Priest brings his own brand of rock with KK’s Priest and I love that he is playing off his former band because why shouldn’t he capitalize on that success. And what is even better is that is Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens on vocals. I have purposely not listened to anything yet as I want to check this out all in one sitting.
  • 71yOdi4TqCL._AC_UY436_FMwebp_QL65_  Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett – Love For Sale – (Columbia / Sony / Interscope): Lady Gaga…Yes Please…Tony Bennet…Absolutely Yes Please!! In what might very well be Tony’s last recordings how could you not want to hear this. The man is a legend and throw in Gaga and the two together are pure gold!!

Friday New Releases – August 30th

Published on by 2loud2oldmusic16 Comments

We are at the end of August and are getting ready for some huge releases that will be coming in September and October.  This week has a ton of releases, but none I am eager to run out and get although one everyone is talking about (but me – well I am talking about it, but I don’t really care).  My choices are limited and highlighted in Blue.  Let me know what you are interested in hearing or if I missed anything as that is known to happen…frequently.  Have a great week.

  • 81MUYOosNDL._SS500_.jpg  Sons of Apollo – Live With the Plovdiv Psychotic Symphony – (Inside Out Music).  Sons of Apollo are releasing a huge live album/DVD and I expect it will be awesome. How could it not with Jeff Scott Soto on vocals, Mike Portnoy on Drums, Billy Sheehan on Bass, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal on guitar and Derek Sherinian on keyboards.  Their debut was spectacular and this will be nothing short of that.  This will get played a lot!!

  • 71HrT-cjr+L._SS500_  Tool – Fear Inoculum – (Tool Dissectional/Voyage): Here is the album everyone is talking about.  It has been 13 years since their last album and I am not sure if anyone thought they would do another album.  This is going to be huge in the world of music.  So why do I not care one bit.  I have never found them to be anything special so maybe I am missing something. I will listen to see if this finally grabs me, but I am not expecting much as I liked nothing prior.  Can someone please tell me why they are so liked…seriously, let me know.
