Tim’s Vinyl Confessions: Ep. 763 – Radio & Records Top 30 AOR Chart Jan 17/86

Witness the AOR charts: Where Bon Jovi, Dokken and Aerosmith seamlessly rubbed shoulders with Stevie Nicks, Mike + the Mechanics, and various members of The Who. I join Tim Durling from Tim’s Vinyl Confessions and we explore this chart from forty years ago. RADIO & RECORDS TOP 30 AOR CHART JAN 17/86.

What was wild about this show was how different the AOR list was from the Top 40 charts. Some items falling down the AOR list were one of the top songs in the Top 40 which shows that the AOR radio stations got the best songs faster. A very diverse list of arts so come join the fun.

November is done and we are now inching towards Christmas. First, it is time for the monthly wrap-up so lets see what 2 Loud 2 Old Music added to the collection this month. This is the November 2025 Wrap-Up and we have a bunch of vinyl and a whole lot of CDs to get through. This month I hit Noble Records & Repo Records as well as ordered from Discogs and Amazon. So much to go through including a handful of new Rock Candy CDs in the collection, Kiss and a Box Set rolled into one plus a selection of items from Black Friday Record Store Day. The Collection: Ep. 71 – August 2025 Wrap-Up

My buddy, Mike Ladano, at Grab a Stack of Rock had a friend named Len Labelle who was selling his CD collection. Mike sent pictures out and I was so in on buying as so many pieces that I needed. Len & Mike are in Canada and shipping was going to be expensive to the States, so I made sure to buy enough to make it worth it…and it so was. 55 CDs later and we have a ton of great stuff to add to the collection. If you like Journey, Dokken, Sammy Hagar, Tesla, Slaughter and more…you’ll like this.

Halloween is almost upon us and we’ve scared up over 80 releases for you this week. No tricks, only treats!! There are so many bands, so many genres and so many great things to hear there should be something for everyone. March 2023 Purchases – Vinyl & CDs

We are already at the end of March and can’t believe three months in to the year already as well. Time does fly. But it doesn’t fly fast enough that we can’t do a monthly summary of purchases here at 2 Loud 2 Old Music. And this month was another good one even though the vinyl purchases were down and overall purchases were down as well. I didn’t actually get out to a real record store this month so I will try and make up for that in April.

The month started off with Frontiers Records updating their $5 CD sale and adding a bunch more albums to the list. I, of course, took advantage of that sale. I was able to pick up albums from Inglorious, Night Ranger and Jorn as well as a live Blu-Ray from Dokken. All great stuff.

And then my wife and daughter wanted to go to 2nd & Charles as they had a book sale where you buy 5 books, you get 5 free…Sadly, there was not a CD sale at the time, but it didn’t stop me from picking up some great music while I was there. I did get 5 CDs, but since the next 5 weren’t free, I stuck with only my 5. I picked up some Metallica, Tesla, Halestorm, Aldo Nova (which I had already on vinyl) and the last great Queensryche album in my book, ‘Promised Land’.

Friday New Releases – January 27, 2023

We already to the close of the first month of 2023 and it has been somewhat lackluster at times with new releases, but this week we have over 40 new releases for you so there should be something for you. I don’t really have any I am running out and buying, but maybe I’ll stream the Steve Vai one, but outside of that probably not. The Dokken release would be great if it had some new or unreleased songs on it, otherwise I have those albums already. Let me know what you want to hear this week or if we missed any releases. June 2022 Purchases – Vinyl, CDs, Cassettes & More

Summer has been heating up and so did the purchases for this month. This month had some serious quality for me and at the same time some quantity as well. And the month came in with a bang as all my Def Leppard albums I ordered finally made it in. When I say “all”, I mean the new one and all the formats I ordered. I’m starting to like it too!

And it kept on going with a huge sale at 2nd & Charles having a buy 5 CDs get 5 CDs free and I took advantage of that discount. My daughter joined me and picked up some DVDs and CDs as the sale applied to those as well. First batch is all Kiss!!
