Can you believe January is already over and it is now February? That was fast. We are to another Friday New Releases and although not as many as last week, there is still a good number of releases and a good chance you will find something that you want to listen to this weekend. Unfortunately for me, there is nothing I am dying to hear, but hopefully you will find something. Let me know what you want to hear and what release I may have missed as I am sure there is something I didn’t see. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! Happy Listening!!!
Korn – Requiem – (Loma Vista Recording)
Saxon – Carpe Diem – (Silver Lining Music)

Steve Vai – Inviolate – (Favored Nations / Mascot Label Group): Steve Vai…what is there to say. He is a legend on the guitar and there are not many that can match his skill. With his albums though, it is hit or miss with me. I either love it or I am not sure what the hell is going on. As with all his albums, I will give it a spin and we will see which reaction we get.
Earthless – Night Parade of One Hundred Demons – (Nuclear Blast): Man, I can’t wait for this one. This Psychedelic Rock band that does mostly instrumentals is so much fun to listen to that I might be dropping the needle on this one first. There is so much going on you just get lost in the music.
Kissin’ Dynamite – Not the End of the Road – (Napalm Records): This German band is now on their seventh album and I would say these guys are on to something as they keep getting better. Their 80’s stadium rock sound full of hooks and that anthem sound yet till sound modern. I can’t wait to hear what they have to offer this time around.
John Mellencamp – Strictly A One-Eyed Jack – (Republic Records): Can you believe this is his 25th album? Insane right. I hadn’t listened to him in awhile so now I think it is time to check him out again and see if there is still life left in this pirate.
Skillet – Dominion – (Atlantic Recording / WEA): This Christian Rock band from Tennessee is now on their 11th Studio album and they have changed so much over the years it is crazy to think how far they’ve come. Lately thought it all seems the same so I am hoping we get something a little different with this one. We will see.
Tony Martin – Thorns – (Dark Star Records): Former Black Sabbath singer is back with another solo album. It has been awhile since his last one so can’t wait to hear what he brings to the table this time around.
David Bowie – Toy – (Rhino / Parlophone): This is the missing album from around 2000 that never got released. It is finally time to bring it to the masses. Based on the album cover, I’m a little freaked out as that is the scariest looking Bowie baby I have ever seen. I might have nightmares. Hopefully the music doesn’t give me nightmares. I am sure it won’t as it is Bowie!!
AmaLee – Rise of the Monarch – (Leegion Creative)
Alicia Keys – Keys – (RCA Records / Sony)
Green Day – BBC Sessions – (Reprise Records)
Skid Row – The Atlantic Years (1989-1996) Box Set – (BMG Rights): The collection includes seven 180-Gram Audiophile vinyl LPs, including the band’s multi-million selling, worldwide-charting first three studio albums, plus the B-Side Ourselves EP and the live EP, Subhuman Beings on Tour!!, which was previously only available on CD in Japan. It is now being made available globally and on vinyl for the first time ever. I want this but not sure I if it is worth it yet.
U2 – Achtung Baby (30th Anniversary) – (Island Records / Universal)
Tom Morello – The Atlas Underground Flood – (Comandante / Mom+Pop)

Smith/Kotzen – Better Days E.P. – (BMG Rights): Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen of well, Richie Kotzen are back together again. Sadly, this time we only get an E.P. instead of a full album, but these two powerhouses are worth any little bit. I can’t wait to hear what they have in store for us.
Black Label Society – Doom Crew Inc. – (Panworkz / Entertainment One)
Kiss – Destroyer (45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition) – (Universal Music / UMG): KISS!!! Man, I can’t wait for this to arrive. I hope it makes it today. Kiss is releasing a 45th Anniversary of one of their biggest albums. It is remastered and there are a ton of demos and unreleased tracks and it is about time the band did a Box Set like this. Now, they need to go back and do them all with this special treatment. They’d get my money!!
The Darkness – Motorheart – (Cooking Vinyl): The Darkness is upon us and that makes for a much brighter day for me! I love these guys. Their love of that old glam rock sound makes for a wonderful listen. They bring that style to today’s market and for that we are lucky. I loved their last album ‘Easter is Cancelled’ and if this is half as good as that one, this will be awesome then!!
Silk Sonic (Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak) – An Evening with Silk Sonic – (Aftermath Entertainment / Atlantic): First up for me is Silk Sonic. You get the both Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak in one band and let me tell you it doesn’t get any smoother than that!! I really loved the first single “Leave the Door Open” and it has made me so excited for this release!! This will get my weekend going.
Taylor Swift – Red (Taylor’s Version) – (Republic Records): Say what you will about her, but she did shake up radio and music in general. Hell, she is one of the only people out there that actually sells massive amounts of physical product. My kids and I decided we would collect these “Taylor Versions” of her re-recordings as there is an abundance of music from the Vault to come with each release. This is her 2nd re-recording and actually a favorite album of the family so we will be grabbing this one.
