Abba – Voyage – (Universal Music / 1221 AB / Polar Music): If you thought things were bad with the pandemic, they are, but you know the world is doomed when we actually get a new Abba album. Who had that on their Pandemic Bingo Card??? After 40 years, our prayers have been answered or is it our nightmares came true…not sure which. Still, who doesn’t want to hear the new Abba album. I’ll give it a spin…why not!!! Things can’t get worse, can they?????
Crazy Lixx – Street Lethal – (Frontiers Records): Sweden is the hottest Glam Rock country in the world. They have given us hundreds, if not thousands, of Glam Rock bands over the years and one of the really cool ones. Always worth a listen!!
Welcome to the last New Release Friday of October. This weekend is Halloween and what are the treats in store for you. There are around 50 releases this week so I would say that is a pretty nice treat for everyone. Two of the ones I have on order and will hopefully arrive soon so I can spin them and one is one I am sure I will hear because of my kids plus I am interested in hearing it anyway. My choices are in Bold. Let me know if the releases this week are a treat or a trick and let us know what else is out this week that I may have missed. Thanks, as always, for stopping by and I hope everyone has a frighteningly great weekend!!
Whitesnake – Restless Heart Super Deluxe Edition – (Rhino Records): One thing David Coverdale does well is how to put together a fantastic box set. He has hit it out of the park with ‘Slide it In’, ’87 and with Slip of the Tongue, now it is time for the next in the series, “Restless Heart”. This underrated album and often overlooked album gets the super deluxe treatment and you will get a remastering, unreleased and demos as well as a live show and it will all be amazing as usual! Mine is out for delivery and should be here today!!
John 5 & the Creatures – Sinner – (John 5 / Big Machine Label Group): John 5 is probably my favorite guitarist out there right now. Whether it is his solo work, his work with Rob Zombie or his noodling around on instagram, he is nothing short of amazing. I am sure we will get more rock, metal and bluegrass with this release like we do and I couldn’t be happier about that. I have a signed copy of this on its way to the house very soon. Can’t wait!!
Happy Friday. And boy, do we have a ton of releases for you this week. We are bringing you 53 new albums for you to checkout. I know, you will never get to them all as there is no way, so find the ones you want the most and check them out. I have a couple I am going to listen to for sure and a several I will give a spin when I can. Those are all marked in Blue. Now let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Sixx A.M. – Hits – (Better Noise Records): Nikki Sixx and the boys are back with a greatest hits package and thankfully we will 6 new tracks and/or new mixes. I really have enjoyed there albums so this will add to the collection and I am sure it sounds better than Cure probably will…oooh…sorry that was harsh.
Duran Duran – Future Past – (Tape Modern / BMG): This is the band’s15th studio album and will feature collaborations with Giorgio Moroder, Mark Ronson, Lykke Li. These guys have been going strong for 40 years and I can say I am interested in to what they have to bring us now. Their releases have been hit or miss with me, but there are always a bunch of tracks I do like so ready to give it a try every time they release a new one.
Another week of over 40 albums being released which means there is something for everyone. Heck, if you make it down to the end there is even a Christmas album by Kelly Clarkson. Yes, it is time for Christmas albums to start coming out. I know, too soon!! I have a handful I would really like to hear and one I’d really like to buy, but KACHING!!! My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and let us know what I may have missed so everyone can see what they might be missing. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
The Alarm – History Repeating: 1981-2021 – (Twenty First Century Recording Co): A Double CD of the band’s 40 year career!! Man, I am feeling old as I have been listening since the beginning. There are are a several unreleased songs as well as all their hits. I believe there are 44 tracks and definitely worth grabbing!!
Judas Priest – Reflections: 50 Heavy Metal Years of Music Box Set: I would love to get the big deluxe box set but it is well over $400 and I am sure worth every penny. I might need to sell some things or take out a second mortgage for this one. After just finishing the Judas Priest Review Series on the site, this would be a great way to top it off!! With a giant cherry on top!! Or you can get the one disc greatest hits album if that floats your boat. Either works.
Happy Friday everyone!! Welcome to another round of new releases. And we have a lot for you whether you like country, jazz, indie, disco, r&b, metal and even good old rock & roll. As a result, there is something for everyone and I hope you find something. I have a few I want to hear and two I have on pre-order and can’t wait to get my hands on them. Those are marked in Blue. Let me know what you are interested in and what I may have missed. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Jeff Scott Soto – The Duets Collection, Vol. 1 – (Frontiers Records): One of my favorite lead singers and he is back with yet another release this year. This time around it is a compilation but not the normal type. This is his greatest hits, redone as duets with some of his favorite people. He is covering songs from his solo career and a ton of bands he has been in over the years. It should be awesome, but I can’t review it. Nope. Well, not until I get to it some time next year when I do the Jeff Scott Soto Series. Over 65 albums in this series and it will be epic!!
The Wild Feathers – Alvarado – (New West Records): Here is another favorite artist of mine. These guys are a little country, a little southern rock and a whole lot of awesome. This one is on order to complete my vinyl collection of the band but won’t be here until around the 29th of the month. I can’t wait to dive in to this one.
Welcome to October and there is abundance to keep you busy this month. Maybe not as much as weeks past but still a broad range of releases that there is bound to be something up your alley. I have quite a few I want to hear including some Super Deluxe Editions of older albums as there are a ton of those almost every week now. My choices are highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and even what I may have missed that way everyone will know. Thanks so much for the continued support, stopping by and commenting. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
KK’s Priest – Sermons of the Sinner – (EX1 Records): K.K. Downing, formerly of Judas Priest brings his own brand of rock with KK’s Priest and I love that he is playing off his former band because why shouldn’t he capitalize on that success. And what is even better is that is Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens on vocals. I have purposely not listened to anything yet as I want to check this out all in one sitting.
Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett – Love For Sale – (Columbia / Sony / Interscope): Lady Gaga…Yes Please…Tony Bennet…Absolutely Yes Please!! In what might very well be Tony’s last recordings how could you not want to hear this. The man is a legend and throw in Gaga and the two together are pure gold!!
Believe it or not, we are to the last release date of September. Hard to believe another month has flown by and we have yet another week with a ton of releases, but just shy of the two previous weeks of 50 releases or more. This is getting insane. There is really only one I am dying to hear (I know, a little dramatic) and it is marked in Blue. A couple more that I will try (also marked in Blue). Let me know what albums you are crazy about and which ones that came out that I missed so everyone knows. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Tremonti – Marching in Time – (Napalm Records): Mark Tremonti is back with another monster album. I love his stuff with Creed, with Alter Bridge, but I really dig is metal band Tremonti. The man can play some serious guitar and I love the fact he takes the mic for this band. Always some great stuff. Hold on to your hat with this one as it will blow you away!!
Angels & Airwaves – Lifeforms – (My Products LLC / Rise Records): This is one I am wanting to try out as I really loved their first two albums from a while back. Former Blink-182 member, Tom DeLonge’s band is a little all over the place with their style, but it is unique and at times interesting so want to see what new they brought with them this time around.
Happy Friday!! You made it through another week so congratulations are in order! And as an award you have an abundance of new releases to pick through and hopefully something will catch you eye. We have the 2nd week in a row with over 50 albums to choose form. I also want to give a shout out to my beautiful wife and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Today she is ??? I ain’t going to tell you her age, that would be rude!! Now back to the show, I am really excited about one and somewhat about others and I have highlighted all my choices in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and what albums I may have missed as it does happen. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Billy Idol – The Roadside E.P. – (BFI Records / Dark Horse Records / BMG): I am so excited about this release as I have been a fan for a long time and I did a whole series of over 20 posts on his career. It was a blast. His new song “Bitter Taste” is actually amazing and I can’t wait to hear the rest. The only disappointing thing is it is an E.P. and only 4 songs, but I will take what I can get at this point. My autographed copy should be here soon.
Daughtry – Dearly Beloved – (Dogtree Records): It has been 3 years since his last release but feels like longer. I like his style of rock as it is pretty damn catchy and he has some great choruses and I like that. I did get oversaturated with him, but I am ready for some more as I feel it has been longer than it has actually been. Here’s to hoping for a good album!!
Welcome to another week of new release and do we have a bunch to choose from. We have an astounding 56 releases today!! That is INSANE!!! With that many albums, there has to be a little in here for everyone. I have a handful that I want to hear today and you will as well I am sure. My choices are in Blue. Let me know which ones you want to hear this week and also tell me if I missed any which I am sure will happen. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Metallica – Metallica (Deluxe Editions/Box Set) – (Blackened Recordings): The biggest selling Metallica gets the Deluxe treatment with a newly remastered album and previously unreleased, demos, rough mixes, & live tracks. Includes a 28-page booklet. This will be fun going through and will keep you busy for quite some time.
Metallica – The Metallica Blacklist – (Blackened Recordings): This Metallica set if 4 CDs of artists of all sorts of genres playing songs of the album. You get 50+ artists and a pretty cool tribute album basically.
We are already in to September and being a Holiday Weekend here in the States, it seems to be a lighter week than what we have seen the past and what is coming in the future. There is one Massive release for a lot of my friends and I will give it a listen, but otherwise there is nothing I am looking forward to this week. There are a few big releases outside of the Massive one and maybe they will be what you want to hear. My choice is highlighted in Blue. Let me know what you want to hear and what I may have missed as that does happen. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I know I will as it is a long weekend for me.
Iron Maiden – Senjutsu – (Iron Maiden / Sanctuary Records / BMG): Iron Maiden is back with another release and there are a lot of readers excited by this one. I have never gotten in to them, but I will give it a listen so I am not completely left out of the conversation when it begins. This is the band’s 17th Studio album which is why I haven’t tried to get in to them as that is a lot of albums to buy plus the million of live albums they have it is quite daunting. But if you like Metal, this should be up your alley.
And that is it for me. Hopefully one of these albums will strike your fancy and you’ll give them a spin…
